The quintessential Maine experience, with a modern twist.

Introducing The Back and Forth

The Back and Forth is a 28' traditional Maine lobster boat built in Yarmouth, Maine in the 1950's by Caroll Lowell for his personal use (which means no lobster guts here). She has beautiful lines, a clean white paint job and is solid and sturdy in the water. The large gold star on the roof makes her easy to spot in a crowd.

The business model of The Back and Forth is as simple as it's title. We can take you 'back and forth' from one side of the bay to the other with a stop in the middle, either downtown to explore Belfast, or over on the East side of Belfast where the famous Youngs Lobster pound sits and roughly 300 hotel, motel and B&B rooms await.

Or, we can take you on a 30 minute harbor tour. Take in the working harbor, stunning coastline and local wildlife from comfortable captains chairs on this spotless, traditional vessel.

The Back and Forth runs 7 days a week between 11am and 5pm for as little as $18 per person and kids go FREE!

Either side of those hours she is available to take you on an adventure.

We have carefully curated several experiences for you to enjoy. Make the most of your time here in Belfast and join us on the water to ensure your trip is filled with priceless memories that will last a lifetime.
